I have a supposed pure bred border collie pup that is black and white, but has light tan...


I have a supposed pure bred border collie pup that is black and white, but has light tan markings above her eyes, back legs and butt. Is this typical for borders?

yes...that is very typical...border collies can have a lot of variation in their coat...only recently have border collies been defined by there physical characteristics....in the past their identification was via behavioral traits...

It's not typical, the typical is black and white, but it is definitely possible, BC come in a lot of colors and patterns.

Yes, border collies come in all variety of colors. It sounds like yours is a tricolored BC.
