we recently rescued a "beagle/daschund" from the shelter...he went from 10# to 20# in 3 weeks...our vet says he is a black and tan coonhound (possibly purebred) he is now approx. 3 months old and weighs approx 22# i was wondering if that is a typical weight for a 3 month old coonhound????? thank you!

Every dog is different and if your vet suspects him to be a Black and Tan Coonhound, and you want to know, the best thing to do is to have a DNA test done. They can be found online for an average price of $45.00 - $85.00. The weight is quite typical, but because you are the only one able to see the pup, it is unclear if the pup is over weight or not.
