Our coonhound dogs are not kept in kennels they are free to roam so they can get their exercise and hunt. They frequently go out and hunt during the winter - we had 4 inches of snow on the ground Monday and 4 of ours still went hunting. They come back to the house when they get cold and want in - just trust your dog - they will let you know when it is too cold for them.

Coonhound dogs are very hardy dogs that do well in all climates. Just use good judgment if its below freezing temp. then dont leave out too long. Common sence is the best bet for you. There are many articles on the web to find out info.
