My bichon is 7, he seems in very good health...eats normally and goes on schedule..however, when i take him on long walks, he will make sure to hit every tree, telephone pole etc....i realize he marks his territory...but today i saw blood the last time he lifted his leg and went...i had noticed this a month or so back but didnt see it again til today...i never see it when i take him on his normal walk when he will go may three or four times......what can cause that blood?

Its not do to use. Excessive marking will not cause blood in the urine. That is due to an infection, like kidney, bladder, etc. Sometimes more serious like cancers but we had to do 2 rounds of antibiotics and our bichon was just fine.

If you saw blood in your urine, I would hope you would go to the doctor. Be a responsible pet owner and take your bichon to the vet for a check up.
