Your Bichon sounds stressed, maybe she needs more attention or dosent like being left

More than likely, it is the food. Make sure you are not feeding your Bichon things that will make her have these tendencies, like corn, wheat etc. The BIGGEST reason these little ones have allergies is their food.

my bichon was licking her paws when I gave her beef or chicken jerky and pig ears. Now I only give her all natural baked treats made in the USA.

I would stop giving her predzone it causes cushions disease in bichons when they reach middle age, I read that in my bichon book I bought at petco.

Try allergy's. Bichons have allageries just like humans when we put our dog on allegery meds he stopped bitting himself. He is now 15.

My bichon did this 2 years in a row (my fault). The vet said bichons are prone to skin allergies. He made 2 large 'hot spots".the vet gave him a shot of prednisone and told me to give him 1/2 tab of zyrtec allergy med every day. It worked-then I stopped the zyrtec and it happened all over again. Talk to your vet about allergy pills-By the way, a shot of cortisone once a year or every once in a while will NOT hurt the dog (am pharmacist) Cortisone pills every day or frequent shots can cause harm just like humans, but very occasionally is fine..
