I have a 8 month old Malinois mix rescued 3 months ago so I'm new to this but here is my experience and what I've learned from reading. She's either sleeping or busy, period. She's high energy and will pace if she hasn't had enough exercise (approx 5 miles a day) or doesn't have something to chew on (bone, ball, or toy). Malinois dogs are a working breed with energy to spare. They love to use their nose for games of hide & seek, etc. Mine is registered for a scent work class (hide & seek/search & rescue) as well as a "target" class which will teacher to go get things for me. Your Mal needs many jobs to do to keep her happy. Mine is smart as a whip, loving, and keeps me on my toes. Awesome companion as long as she's not idle.

Your Belgian is bored. She is looking for something to do, by nature she is a working dog. So if she is not kept busy, she will get ants in the pants lol
