My grandparents have a 9 month old beagle that is very hyper when he is let out. I have been taking care of him like he is my own. He has been recently pooping out blood. He eats a lot of grass and hasnt been eating his dog food like he should be doing. Everytime i look at him it seems as if he is getting skinnier. Please help me, i have gotten so attached to him in a week and dont want him to die. Any answers or ideas on what to do, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.

get your beagle to the vet ASAP my two beagles were passing blood, the younger beagle ended up passing away due to bleeding to death from a bacterial infection!!!!!!!

Yes- have them tested for Guardia. It is a highly contagious (even from dog to human) bacteria that is easily transferred from grass to your dog. The urine or squirrels and racoons is the most common cause. My beagle had it at 8 weeks and we took him in immediately. He was given antibiotics and recovered within a week. Good luck!

Blood in stool or in urine is 100% of the time something worthy of a vet's attention within 24-48 hours.
