Our family has a 7 month old beagle who drools only when in the car. Actually she sits down on sidewalk when we load into the car and we have to pick her up and carry her. Excessive drooling while traveling - we even tried to hold her by her leash and let her head catch the breeze out the window. As soon as she is out of the car the drooling stops. Any way to curb this messy action?

My mom's dog did this, too! After seeing the vet, we discovered she was motion sick. There wasnt much we could do but at least we knew what we were dealing with. A little doggie dramamine from the vet helps when we go on trips.

Your beagle may be experiencing car sickness. Talk to your vet about this, and ask about simple treatment options.

Our Beagle gets motion sickness too. She throws up in the car.

Be thankful if drooling is all your beagle does while traveling. There are various things you can try. I found a compression vest to help greatly for traveling (Thundershirt). You can also try Rescue Remedy about 15 minutes before getting in the car, or talk to your vet about stronger options.
