Hi. I always go out with my appenzeller and play with wim. After half and hour I start to TEACH him. They are very temperament so you should tire him/her a bit. If I use too much pressure, It doesnt work well. I think (and my friend, who has got my fool`s mother, who is totally fantastic trained dog, thinks the same) Apenzeller must be teached by playing games and with patient, unyieldingness. They are very perceptive. Be a good actor while you are praising him/her.
