I know this is a stupid question. And I think I know the answer to it. But need it...


I know this is a stupid question. And I think I know the answer to it. But need it confirmed. I am wondering if Anatolian Shepherd's make good Livestock Guardians if socialized with their flock and show property boundaries, etc.?

Yes Anatolian Shepherds make Great livestock guardians. They have been bred for about 3000 years for the purpose of protecting not only the livestock but also the shepherd and the shepherds property and family. In their county of origin (turkey) the Anatolian shepherd is also used to protect the children in the family by tying a rope to the child and then to the Anatolians collar and the Anatolian will watch the child all day and bring the child home before dark. The Anatolian Shepherd is just as good with livestock as it is with children and they are extremely protective.

Anatolian Shepherd's are not good with birds. Like chickens,geese and ducks found out the hard way.
