We have a 6 month old Anatolian/German Shepherd Mix and we have been having quite a few behavior...


We have a 6 month old Anatolian/German Shepherd Mix and we have been having quite a few behavior issues. First of all, when we take him outside to use the bathroom he will get distracted and not do anything until we come inside and he will either pee on the floor or in his kennel. Secondly, when he is inside and outside of his kennel he cannot seem to calm down and jumps on and knocks over everything in his path. We scold him and put him in his kennel for a few minutes and then when we let him out for another chance he does it all over again. We really love him and feel like he is a great dog, but would love some advice.

i hope this helps. what i'd do for the potty is put him on a leash and take him outside. don't let him wander around, just stay in the same spot until he goes potty. if he goes, praise him generously. you can let him off leash as soon as he goes potty. it lets him know that 'if i dont go potty, i can't play.' for the jumping, i would ignore him and walk away, don't even look at him. as soon as he calms down, you can pet him. if he does it all over again, do the same thing and ignore. if he jumps up on everything, well, unfortunately, to avoid damage, it's best to remove it from his reach. i have the dog that did the same thing.
