Alaskan Malamute Question

I have owned a malamute in the past and my family is planning on getting 2 this winter. I have researched and it is strongly suggested to get 2 of opposite sex. It is good for the older to be a male, because females tend to be more aggressive (there are always exceptions, but several breeders have suggested this). For some reason even 2 that get a long for a year or 2 will become aggressive if they are the same sex. I suggest you get a female.

I think that this can vary. I have had Malamutes for 20 yrs and all have been males. I think that because I got one at 8 weeks old and when he was a yr old I got another male Malamute puppy. They lived happily with each other and were inseparable for 13 yrs until Serac the younger one died and then Glacier died shortly after. I now have a 3yr old, 2yr old and a 10 week old puppy all males and they all get along. I did train them myself and that might be a difference. But I have been lucky because it is not the norm...Good luck.. be sure to treat them all with the same attention and kindness and show no favoritism
