Hi, How hot do you mean? The wealther stays hot consistently or just up down sometimes? It's rather keep Akita in cold area, because it's SLED DOG, but Akita is very good, easy and quick to adapt to any temp and any where, just suply enought food and water, they will show you they are good.

Akitas are not SLED DOGS they were bred for hunting... Siberian and Alaskan Huskies are sled dogs but if you are concerned about the heat being a problem try a deshedding tool to help keep his/her fur lighter I personally recommend the furminator we love ours and it seems to help our Akita with the heat

I had an Akita for 12 years, and just recently had to put her down for hip displacement problems. She was raised in Texas, where the summer temps get really hot. She dis ok, but liked the winter temp a lot better. Would highly recommend the breed.

Yes, Akita's just prefer cooler weather. Mine loves the rain.
