I adopted a akita 3 days ago. He is 8 months old and I'm trying to train him to sit. I want him to do many other things, but he is really not interested in anything. He does not respond well to his name or commands. I was hoping to receive some tips of toys or treats anything to catch his attention. He's very playful but does not respond to his name or whenever you call him. I want to also train him to get in my car - he was really bad at the vet today .lol

Why dont you try small pieces of fresh fish - they love it - shout your dogs name and come. For instance I always say "sandy come" and she does. When your akita comes to you give him a treat, that way he will associate it with a treat and so he will listen

Because your akita probably had another owner before you. Before you train him you need to get him/her to trust and love you. Then after that you can train him/her but he/she might not take to you if he/she had another owner before but try your best and i hope it works out
