we are planning to breed our Airedale Terrier, at what age is good? I heard you should pass the 1st heat cycle and breed on the 2nd. How many puppies are in her first litter and then on?

As with any larger breed dog, you should wait to breed the female until she is about two years old (this may be the 3rd heat cycle). Then you should only breed one heat cycle per year. If the female is bred too early and too often, she can end up with health esp. hip problems, potentially not be a good mother, or have a much shortened life span. Please breed responsibly.....
