Afghan Hound Question

no afghan hounds have a lot of hair.

I am allergic to most dogs and I do own an Afghan. Even though he has long hair (which sometimes is a pain in the rear to take care of) I don't have any reactions to him. The Afghans have human like hair, which makes a huge difference to allergy prone people. My dog even sleeps next to me in my bed and is extremely cuddly. I couldn't imagine my life without my baby boy. Another plus, if you keep their hair short they don't shed. I think, this breed is great for people that have mild to severe allergies- like me!

If a dog has fur that means it sheds. If a dog has hair it doesn't shed. Dogs that don't shed are hypoallergenic.
