Affenpinscher Question

I might be adopting a 2 year old affenpinscher, is this ok that I'm not getting him as a puppy?...

I might be adopting a 2 year old affenpinscher, is this ok that I'm not getting him as a puppy? I've heard that they are cute and funny. Is this true? Also, I'm looking for a smaller dog, are they usually under 20 pounds? Will they fit into my lap? Are they lap dogs anyway? Do they love to play and run? Thank you!

My affenpinscher sits on my lap and my husbands lap every night. He loves to play but he also loves to cuddle. He sleeps with us too!

My affenpinscher just turned 2. He is a lap dog. He sleeps in bed with me and my husband and he's very smart and loveable.

My Affen is a lap dog, even though we have other small dogs, he finds a place in our bed and on our laps, so matter what. He is the smartest dog we have EVER had, and my husband is a Guide Dog user!! He weighs 14 lbs., and is like a teddy bear, and loves to be hugged and kissed, and will return the favor if asked. He loves to be groomed as well. Our baby is a little lover and just turned one year old, although he was a rescue, didn't seem to bother him a bit. He is all family and gets along very well with our two labs and the cats. (He sleeps with BOTH the Labs and Cats. Just a lover, that is all I can say. I am 67 years old and have had dogs all my life. I wish I would have known about this breed much earlier in my life. I would have had them forever.

We adopted our affenpinscher at the dog pound a couple years ago. The pound nor us realized this dog was a pure breed dog . She was 6 months old at the time we adopted her. This breed is a pure joy to have, very loving and smart. Like the 67 year old lady I wish I knew about this breed sooner in my life too. She loves other dogs and our two cats also..She has a forever home now.
