My 4 yr old Affenpinscher and 10 yr old nephew are the best of friends. I would not recommend for a very young child, he did get nippy with my 18 mo neice.

My Affenpinscher puppy was raised with a 6 year old until he was 4 mos old when we got him. He adores kids, but I believe they have to get used to them when they are young.

if the dog and the child are raised together there should not be problems but you must remember that it is an animal and kids do not always think before acting and it could cause problems so proceed with caution
