Start your yorkiepoo on probiotics and a grain free diet! Sounds like she may have a systemic overgrowth of yeast. It can cause itchy skin, ear problems, chewing and licking on the skin/paws, etc.

No you can only breed her when she is 18 months old, she classes as a puppy until she is 2 years old so NO! It's like making a 10 year old kid have children.
She is way too young. Wait another 1/5 years
Anonymous - 11/5/2011 12:05:04 PM
you realize that eight months is too young to breed a dog don't you?

Anonymous - 10/19/2011 1:19:19 AM

Just an ordinary puppy cut is the best. Those fancy cut's like teddy bear cut gets in the dog's eyes and makes some parts of the body really hot and others cold , just get an even lenght coat :)
Anonymous - 11/5/2011 12:06:23 PM
Tell them you want a teddy bear cut. It's a really cute cut for a yorkie poo.

QUESTION: how easy is it to potty train yorkies
Anonymous - 9/14/2011 4:58:33 PM
Respond to Question
I got my yorkie poo from a rescue center 2 weeks ago. He is 11 weeks old now. I've been crate training him and he's also being trained to go outside. He learned VERY quickly to my surprise. I use the reward method and so far so good. I have a great puppy, however, the only thing I am seeing is his biting. Not me, but to my kids. He will nip them but they also don't know how yet to handle this behavior so I am teaching them as well.

QUESTION: We have only had our Yorkiepoo puppy a few weeks and took him to the vet the day after we got him and had him checked over. He has a cough so he was put on an antibotic. Still had it at the next appt 2 wks later so this round of meds almost 3 weeks now. It is no better. Do they have allergies? It's almost like a coughing wheeze. Doesn't matter if he's inside or out. But it is worse at times. Any ideas?
Anonymous - 8/4/2011 10:08:45 AM
Respond to Question
It is called kennel cough and even treated with meds it can last 4 to 6 weeks. The vet will put pressure on an area of their throat and if the puppy coughs then its kennel cough. It can be contracted from any other dog like people pass colds. Most of the time rescue dogs get it in shelters.
Anonymous - 11/2/2011 2:12:32 AM
We have 2 Yorkiepoo's - they are sisters. They also had a round of meds for cough. But they still cough at night alot like they have a hair ball.I'm waiting for vet to call me back.If anyone has an answer to this problem please let know.
Anonymous - 8/31/2011 11:38:12 AM
It could be Kennel Cough, which can be very serious if proper medical attention is not there for treatment. My Yorkie-Poo sometimes get little spasms of coughing. I think its just doggy bronchitis. It hasnt really bothered him. Having a dog of that size is best to keep them indoors. Yes dogs can have allergies. Since they are so small they end up really close to the ground. Therefore they end up with dirt and everything else in the grass up there nose and in there eyes weather they can help it of not. Its really helpful to keep your grass cut short.

QUESTION: Do Yorkiepoo's have or leave a lot of pet dander?
Anonymous - 6/22/2011 2:53:41 PM
Respond to Question
No Yorkiepoo's do not have dander.

No, because they are bred partially from Poodles, and Poodles are known to have a very very low dander. That's why people consider them Hypo-Allergenic.

QUESTION: My Yorkie Poo is about 17 weeks old and has started to bite us especially at night. I try to make sure there are chewies and toys available, however she is starting to bite our hands, feet and ears, especially at night. In the past she would sleep through the night, and over the past few days she is starting to wake up multiple times at night biting and barking. Any recommendations?
LyndaD - 6/15/2011 12:17:08 PM
Respond to Question
Watch The dog whisper, and see how to correct this, and also do not keep your yorkie poo in your bedroom or let it go on your furniture when not allowed or else it might become dominant and these symptoms will get worse by time if you don't correct this. If the dog has troubles sleeping take it to a very very long walk so it gets tired before going to sleep.

QUESTION: what kind of shampoo shall i bath my yorkie poo dog if my son is allergic to the dog
Anonymous - 6/13/2011 12:27:13 AM

I don't think shampoo will help. I would remove the yorkie poo from the home or keep it out of his room area. That is not fair to your son.
Anonymous - 8/4/2011 9:52:09 AM
yorkie poo dogs are non allergen so i am not sure he would be allergic to the puppy.

QUESTION: Do Yorkie poo puppies lose their puppy coat? My YP is 5 months old and her hair is thinning to the point where you can easily see her skin... is this normal? I am hoping her coat will grow back in??
Anonymous - 6/1/2011 1:45:51 PM
Respond to Question
I have a 1 year old yorkiepoo and she went through the same thing it is shedding to prep for puberty . A new coat it can take a while but it is a prep for puberty which should happen in a couple months. If you don't see sores or white specks on her skin you can count this out - mange and mites.
Anonymous - 11/2/2011 2:18:19 AM
This is not normal and it could be a food problem. I had my yorkie poo for 13 years from 8 weeks and never had a hair thinning problem. You need to talk to a vet about this.
Anonymous - 10/27/2011 4:35:47 PM
Many dogs do this if they are allergic to the food that they are eating. Try switching brands or calling your local vet for suggestions.

Anonymous - 5/22/2011 9:08:51 PM
Respond to Question
Yorkiepoo's really dont really shed alot and you can train them not to bark. Make sure you train them from a young age, it gets harder when they are older. I'm getting one but I did alot of research on a bunch of websites. Go to google and look up your question
Anonymous - 8/24/2011 6:30:54 PM
Yorkiepoo's are hypoallergic dogs...so there is no problem with this breed.
Anonymous - 6/3/2011 9:23:46 AM
I'm highly allergic to animals and I have no problem with my Yorkiepoo. They do bark if someone comes home or walks into your yard
Anonymous - 5/28/2011 4:03:03 PM
I have a Yorkiepoo and my son is allergic to this dog, but I'm happy to report that he is NOT allergic to this breed of dog! You should be fine, and no they don't shed hardly ever. It's hair they have not fur like other dogs.

QUESTION: my yorkie poo likes to chew on everything and he is 4 months how can i stop that and why is he doing that
Anonymous - 4/20/2011 3:51:27 PM
Respond to Question
Your yorkie poo is in the teething stage. He likes to chew on things when he is a puppy so he can loose his baby teeth and grow in his adult teeth. You can prevent that by getting some things for your puppy to chew on. Make sure also that the things he chews on is away from his reach. You don't want your stuff ruined.

Anonymous - 4/16/2011 2:09:21 PM

Sometimes they can look the same, but yorkie tends to be a bit snappier around children and barks more, but it also is all up to how good you are with dogs.

QUESTION: Do yorkie poos have a tendency to have skin allergies?I have a 1 1/2 yr old that scratches and gnaws on himself. I bathe him well with flea shampoo to make sure that he doesn't have a flea problem and he still gnaws and scratches.
Anonymous - 3/27/2011 3:30:57 PM
Respond to Question
My yorkie poo had a dry skin problem, I now bathe her with Palmolive dish soap which has been great for her & also I leave on Apple Cider Vinegar for about 5 min & this keeps the fleas away.
Anonymous - 8/11/2011 11:09:01 AM
My 9-year old yorkie poo has had skin issues since she was very young - especially in the fall. After taking her to a veterinary dermatologist (which I would highly recommend), she now takes 1-2 pills per day that help her not scratch and gnaw at her paws. Bathing helps, but that can dry out her skin and make her more itchy at times.
