Ownership
Help reduce the number of German Coolie puppies in shelters by doing your due diligence. Many puppies are often purchased with little or no knowledge of what goes into parenting one. Uneducated decisions often leave the puppy in need of adoption and in the care of rescue groups. Bringing home a puppy into your family has many benefits but we first implore you to educate yourself. An informed decision will take into account the characteristics of the breed, your lifestyle, expected veterinary care, the demands and limitations of owning one, their activity requirements and levels of companionship required.

The Koolie is a herding dog. it is used in Australia to herd everything from sheep, cattle and even buffalos. There are currently Koolies also being used for everything from bomb detection to trained assistance and companion dogs. A highly intelligent and trainable breed.

Hi how nice to see Koolies getting the recognition they justly deserve. Are German Koolies hard to find. NO. the are many breeders, like myself, who treasure this animal and even after decades away from the breed, here I am, back to Koolies. If I may clarify something here please. The 'German' tag is a misnomer, they are NOT FROM GERMANY. It's just that early immigant farmers, and many were German, simply favoured this dog. I can fill you in on more of this info and how the bane came to be I you are interested. I do not call my Koolies 'German Koolies', they are 'Koolies'
